Wilderness Camp At Marvine Lakes
If you enjoy the
outdoors and horseback riding, our summer camp may be the perfect
place to spend a few days. You will ride gentle experienced mountain
horses 8 miles into the wilderness on a scenic trail that is neither
difficult nor steep, to the Marvine Lakes at an elevation of 9300
feet. The camp has a cooking and dining tent, several sleeping
tents with cots and foam pads, latrine and shower and is the best
equipped wilderness camp in the region. Fishing from the lake
shore or rowboats is within walking distance from camp. Our wranglers
and guides will cook and serve your meals, take care of the horses
and do the camp chores, guide you on day rides, give fly fishing
instructions, and all you have to do is bring your own sleeping
bag and have a great time.
The wilderness camp is usually up and running the middle of June
when the ice comes off the lake (and the fishing is great) until
September when the Elk start to bugle in the fall. A group of
eight is ideal for the wilderness camp, we sometimes mix smaller
groups, but you will always have a sleeping tent for your group
only. Special arrangements can be made for larger groups.
