West Marvine Camp
This secluded camp
is a perfect way for a couple or group of four to "get away
from it" for a few days. There is no fishing nearby, but
the wildlife viewing is good as there are very few people that
ever go into this area. The camp is cozy and well set up, you
will need to bring and prepare your own food. The camp is heated
with a wood stove with a great oven for baking biscuits. The cooking
facilities includes a propane cook top with fuel. Bunk cots with
pads to sleep on, a picnic table, cupboards stocked with first
aid kit, cards, and the dishes, pots and pans, skillets, utensils
and a coffee pot are some of the things provided to make your
stay comfortable and enjoyable.
A two
way radio will be provided so you can communicate with the lodge
to receive the latest weather report or just to tell us how much
fun you're having. The trail starts in our corral and you may
be packed the 5.2 miles by horseback, backpack in, hike with llamas,
or hike and we will take your gear in for you. This camp is also
a wonderful winter hideaway to cross country ski, snowmobile or
snowshoe into and spend a few days. The camp is a "weatherport
shelter", is well insulated and is easy to keep warm. My
personal favorite place to relax and get in touch with nature.
